Locations-Lowell

Tyco Electronics M/A-COM

If Silicon Valley is the capital of the technology megalopolis, then the Boston area is the Chamber of Commerce. Lowell, just outside of Boston, manages to epitomize this by offering high-class entertainment, food and cultural events at a small town price. So while business is booming in Lowell (and booming it is, Lowell boasts an impressive roster of big and small businesses alike) it's also managing to hang onto the colonial Americana feel. Check out the new American Textile Museum or the New England Quilt Museum to see where the city really has its roots. But don't forget to bop around to all the other fascinating places, like the Merrimack Repertory Theatre or the Lowell Memorial Auditorium where you'll see anything from a Broadway show to a boxing match! And in case you thought we forgot, we do have sports on this side of the Mississippi. The Boston Red Sox make regularly scheduled appearances every spring at Fenway Park.

Locations-San Jose, CA

Tyco Electronics M/A-COM - San Jose Operations

San Jose is more like the cool kid sister to San Francisco with all the perks of being one of the fastest-growing cities in America along with the close-knit ties of a small community. The capital of Silicon Valley, San Jose offers a variety of activities to stimulate the mind (we have some great Museums), the body (bike trails, parks, mountains, beaches), and the stomach (in the mood for some Mexican? Sushi? Thai? Indian? The list goes on and on). And if you're a sports fan you can check out Sharks hockey at the Compaq Arena. Baseball fan? We got both the Giants and the A's. Is football your game? Come watch the Raiders or the Forty Niners. Or go see a basketball game, a tennis match, some pro golf. As you can see, we pretty much got everything covered. And don't worry about being bored. You won't be.

Locations-Torrence, CA

Tyco Electronics M/A-COM

Does open space appeal to you? Still want to be close to the city? Torrance is centrally located between Los Angeles and Orange Counties and has over 350 acres of open space and parkland. Southern California has so many attractions it's hard to concentrate on just a few, but between the beach and the freshwater preserve and the galleries and the shopping centers, we think you'll find something to do. And don't forget about annual events like the Daily Breeze International Surf Festival, Torrance shorts Film Festival, and the Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day Fun Run. Being this close to the Mouse has its privileges as well. Only 45 minutes from Disneyland means no hotels and no airfare. And for those who want to continue to learn, Torrance has great libraries and lots of programs for adult learning. So go ahead, take advantage of us.
