Tyco Electronics M/A-COM UK

M/A-COM UK is the European arm of Tyco Electronics engaged in the design, development and manufacture of M/A-COM microwave products for the Aerospace and Defence market. Now in it’s fourth decade of operations our facility occupies 5750 square metres, 50 miles north of London, manufacturing microwave components, assemblies and sub-systems for customers in Europe, Asia, the United States and many other parts of the World.

More than 40% of production is exported.

M/A-COM UK is the lead house within the corporation for:

  • Microwave Synthesisers specialising in Ultra Low Noise, Fast Switching Designs for Aerospace and Defence applications.
  • High Power Solid State Receiver Protectors for Fire Control and Phased Array Radar and Missile Applications.
  • Hybrid Microwave Amplifiers and Oscillators.
  • Multifunction Assemblies for Fire Control Radar and Missile Platforms.
  • Space Qualification for manufacture of Semiconductors and Components.

We cover almost all key microwave technologies with products ranging from semiconductors to equipment. This high degree of vertical product integration provides close control of quality, cost, size and delivery, the benefits of which translate into reduced cost of ownership.

We also design and manufacture advanced passive substrate technology known as GMIC, which is a M/A-COM proprietary process ideally suited for all microwave applications up to mm wave . This gives the benefit of lower cost and greater repeatability for medium to high volume applications.

Tyco Electronics' M/A-COM UK is a qualified supplier of semiconductors to ESA/SCC 5010 for space applications and has a strong presence in the space industry having supplied a range of products over the years for more than 20 satellite payloads. Tyco Electronics' M/A-COM UK is approved to ISO 9001 and ISO14001.

Research and Development is devoted to extending the performance of existing designs and to developing new designs to meet the need for improved performance, lower weight and power consumption with increased reliability. In addition, substantial investment is made in developing technologies and techniques to minimise manufacturing costs.

Tyco Electronics' M/A-COM UK is uniquely placed to provide ‘OFFSET’ benefit for major programs where UK participation is required.

To complement it’s UK facilities Tyco Electronics' M/A-COM UK has total access to technologies within the Corporation as a whole allowing the Company to offer the most cost and time effective service to it’s customers.
