Tyco Electroncis' M/A-COM business provides multi-protocol fixed
and embedded readers powered by ThingMagic. They can read any type
of tag and are software configurable so your equipment does not become
obsolete with the future evolutions of RFID technology. View our RFID
readers brochure.
Fixed Reader - Mecury4 by ThingMagic
We offer the Mercury4, ThingMagic's fourth generation fixed
agile reader. It's intelligent. It's network ready. And, best of
all, it reads any tag, including ISO, EPC Class 0, EPC Class 1
and the new EPC Generation 2. Mercury4 is a pure network device
- a computer that speaks TCP/IP natively, and fully supports standard
network technologies including DHCP, UDP/IP over Ethernet, 802.11x, HTTP,
SNMP and remote upgrades.
Mercury4 is more than multi-protocol. It uses advanced Software Defined
Radio (SDR) technology to read any tag. Out of the box, Mercury4 can simultaneously
read all variants of EPC Class 1 and 0, including the rewriteable Class
0+ tag, ISO 18000-6b and -6c, UCODE 1.19 as well as the new EPC Generation
2 tags. And its digital signal processing software can be remotely upgraded
to accept additional protocols as they become available, making it flexible
and future-proof. This software defined radio architecture also enables
Mercury4 to support multiple frequencies, and conform to regional regulatory
environments, including North American FCC and European ETSI regulations.

Embedded Reader Module - M4e by ThingMagic
Mercury4e is the embedded version of ThingMagic's Mercury4 reader,
designed to provide high powered agile RFID capability to label printers,
print and apply machines, and any other systems that need to read and
write singulated RFID tags of any protocol at high speed. The reader
is credit card-sized, supports 2 antennas, and just like the Mercury4,
reads any tag, including the new EPC Generation 2 as well as older protocols
such as ISO 18000-6B, EPC Class 0, re-writeable EPC Class 0 and EPC Class
1.

We also offer demonstration
kits for the Mercury4 reader. Each kit contains a M4 reader,
antennas, cables, stands, and software - everything you need
to get an RFID portal up and running. In addition, State
of the art M/A-COM RFID Lab offers support for real world application
challenges. Our applications engineering staff is well versed
in the RF environment challenges as well the application and
network interface of the reader subsystems.
