The MARC-23285 is a low power, multi-rate, highly integrated digital video reclocker with output buffers. The MARC-23285 is SMPTE SDI and DVB-ASI video compliant as well as digital audio applications. The reclocker provides high input jitter tolerance and input equalization for up to 25dB of backplane insertion loss for 11.88Gbps data rates (5.94 GHz Nyquist frequency). A built-in automatic rate detection circuit locks to 270 Mbps, 1.485/1.4835 Gbps, 2.97/2.967 Gbps, 5.94/5.934 Gbps ,11.88/ 11.868 Gbps as well as 10.3125Gbps for 10GbE Ethernet. The reclocker operates without the need for a reference clock, it has an integrated loop filter and also supports the MADI audio standard. The MARC-23285 output buffers can be independently configured to 50 W or 75 W (cable driver mode). In 50 W mode, the output buffers support swing levels from 400mVppd to 1Vppd with programmable de-emphasis. In 75 W or cable driver mode, the output swings can be set to single-ended 400mVpp (MADI) or 800mVpp. The reclocker rate detection circuitry can control the SD/HD edge of the cable driver. Integration of the reclocker and cable driver provides major benefits in power, board real estate and ease of design. The device can be operated using a single 1.8 V supply voltage with AVDDO= 2.5V option for extended output swings. The device has extremely low power consumption with the reclocker and cable driver dissipating only 250 mW when one cable driver is enabled. The MARC-23285 may be used in either hardware mode or controlled through a standard four-wire serial digital interface. It also features advanced diagnostic capabilities such as total jitter measurement on input, data rate detection, Loss of Signal (LOS), and Loss of Lock (LOL) detection. The MARC-23285 is offered in a compact green and RoHS compliant 5 mm x 5 mm, 32-pin LFGA package.
